While students across the globe are worrying about university applications and whether they will get in to their first choice institution, many Repton students face a different struggle. They have the unenviable task of choosing which of the world’s best universities to attend, as the offers have been flooding in!

Gabriela Barcia (Latham), who will be studying human, social and political sciences, has offers from two of London’s premier institutions:

University College London and King’s College as well as Durham, the third oldest university in England. Gabriela is thrilled and says she is looking forward to “discovering a whole new field of knowledge”.

Giuseppe Barbaccia (Foremarke) is looking forward to studying Economics at university and he has his pick of the best Economics departments in the UK with Warwick and Queen Mary College both clamouring to offer him a place. Shiva Dakhili (Orchard) and Maksim Nelepa (Foremarke) both have offers from Durham, Warwick and King’s College, Shiva to read Law, and Maksim for Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE). Roula Traboulsi (Dahl) has been offered a place to study Architecture at Edinburgh University which has an acceptance rate of just 10%.

Outside of the UK, Charlie Walker-Clarke (New) is heading to the Netherlands to read Geography at the University of Groningen. Finally, Nada Al Hamad (Foremarke), a budding young doctor, is waiting to hear whether she has a place to study medicine at UCLA, which is the 6th highest ranked medical school in the world.

At Repton we take pride in all of our students regardless of where they go on to study, however, we are delighted that the world’s leading universities are recognising the depth of quality that our IB2 students have to offer.
