Early Years (Age 3 – 5)
Children in the Early Years eagerly anticipate school, enjoying fun, learning, and friendships in a safe, welcoming environment that fosters confidence and independence.
Our beautifully designed classrooms and outdoor spaces provide a stimulating setting for young learners to explore, enquire, and create, supported by highly trained teachers and assistants using the English National Curriculum for planning and assessment.
Specialist teachers enhance our programme with music, physical education, and an informal approach to Arabic learning. Our enquiry-based approach connects learning and exploration, balancing the demands of the Early Years curriculum with activities led by the children’s interests.
Key Stage 1 (Age 5-7)
Having the time and space to question, collaborate, and explore underpins lifelong learning. In Key Stage 1, we go beyond acquiring knowledge to develop investigation and enquiry skills within a structured learning environment.
Our stimulating classrooms and dedicated outdoor spaces foster an engaging atmosphere where students receive daily lessons in English and mathematics aligned with the English National Curriculum. The curriculum includes core subjects like English, Mathematics, Science, Arabic, and Islamic Studies for Muslim students, and foundation subjects, such as History, Geography, Art, Design Technology, Computing, Music, and Physical Education (PE).
Specialist teachers deliver Arabic, Islamic Studies, Computing, Music, and PE, planning enquiry units that integrate different aspects of learning. We believe in embedding this approach early on because our students will need to be flexible learners, capable of solving complex problems.
Additionally, we introduce our students to digital devices in the classroom, using iPads or PC laptops and a variety of educational apps and platforms.
Key Stage 2 (Age 7 - 11)
Our students build on the strong foundations laid in Early Years and Key Stage 1. In Key Stage 2, students develop higher levels of independence using our specialist facilities, including the library, art room, and technology room. They learn to use technology safely while developing key communication and collaboration skills. Students have daily lessons in English and mathematics, aligned with the English National Curriculum, covering core subjects like English, Mathematics, Science, Arabic, and Islamic Studies for Muslim students, along with foundation subjects such as History, Geography, Art, Design Technology, Computing, Music, and Physical Education (PE).
Specialist teachers deliver Arabic, Islamic Studies, library, computing, music, and PE. We maintain high expectations because we believe in our students' potential. We encourage them to form opinions and be active, engaged learners through a wide range of teaching techniques.
At this stage, we introduce a 1:1 digital device as a learning tool, using the Microsoft platform and various educational apps, fully embedding digital learning into our curriculum and teaching students to use technology independently and responsibly.
Senior School (Age 12 – 18)
Our academic curriculum in the Senior School aims to inspire lifelong learning by blending traditional and innovative educational approaches.
In Years 7 to 9, we emphasise creative and expressive arts to develop students' appreciation for these subjects, enhancing their creativity, critical thinking, and independence, which benefits traditional academic subjects. Additionally, Arabic, Islamic, and Social Studies are integral parts of our Senior School curriculum, ensuring a well-rounded and culturally relevant education.
In Years 10 and 11, students prepare for and sit GCSE examinations. Most students study nine GCSE subjects, including six compulsory ones: Mathematics, English Language, English Literature, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. They also choose three optional subjects, ensuring a broad and balanced education. The core curriculum is designed to keep future university and career pathways open, offering flexibility for students to specialise according to their interests and expertise. Additionally, Arabic language is compulsory at GCSE for all native Arabic-speaking students.
The Sixth Form programme offers a comprehensive and well-rounded curriculum designed to inspire and challenge our students. At Post-16 we offer a uniquely broad curriculum with multiple pathways to meet the prospective needs of all learners. They can choose from A Levels, BTEC qualifications, or a combination of both, ensuring a suitable pathway for every learner. For those aiming for academic excellence, the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) will be available, which is highly regarded by universities.
Alternatively, students may pursue the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, selecting six subjects—three at Higher Level (HL) and three at Standard Level (SL). All IB students undertake the 'IB Core,' which includes Theory of Knowledge (TOK), an Extended Essay (EE), and participation in Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS). This holistic approach ensures a well-rounded and enriching educational experience for our Sixth Form students.
